Please know that team rosters have been adjusted to make equal/balanced teams based on the players that indicated they were able to attend.

Any parent/guardian wishing to secure a hotel room for Saturday night should click on the following link and proceed similarly to how rooms were secured for the 2013 Region I Tournament. Hotel rooms are not required for this event and as such team blocks are not being created. Any questions concerning hotel rooms should be directed to AB Sports Zone (800-259-0244).

As of this time Maryland will be sending three teams from the 2000 Boys (just like the initial Region I Tournament) to participate in the make-up event scheduled for June 22-23, 2013 at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex in New Castle, Delaware.

As soon as Region I releases the game schedule this information will be posted here along with the updated team rosters (as some rosters were moved around to maintain equal/balanced rosters due to some players not being able to attend) and any available hotel information.

Subject: Region I Tournament.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in the cancellation of the U13 (2000) and U14 (1999) age groups for the 2013 Region I Tournament last week due to the tropical storm. Region I is looking to host a make-up event for these two age groups in Delaware at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex (1220 River Road, New Castle, DE 19720) the weekend of June 21, 22 & 23. In order to plan for this event, the MSYSA needs to know how many players would be interested in attending this event so that we can determine how many teams we can enter and how many staff members will be needed for the event.Please know that only the players that were initially selected to attend the 2013 Region I Tournament are eligible to attend this make-up event. Information pertaining to any potential refund for players initially selected to attend the 2013 Region I Tournament will be posted on the MSYSA team pages as soon as it becomes available. Hotel information for this make-up event will be posted on the team pages as soon as the event schedule is finalized.

Region I has requested the final numbers for Maryland by 4:00pm today (Tuesday, June 11, 2013). Therefore, the MSYSA needs to know if your player(s) is NOT able to attend. To report that your player is NOT able to attend the event in Delaware on the weekend of June 21-23, 2013 please send the following information to programs@msysa.org by 3:30pm today:

Age Group: U13 or U14

Gender: Male or Female

Field player or Goalkeeper

Once the final head count is determined the total number of teams and their corresponding rosters will be placed on the team pages. Additional information (e.g. game schedules) will be placed on the team pages once Region I determines how many state associations and teams will be attending this event.

Please know that with the impending forecast for Friday, Region I has decided to CANCEL the U13 and U14 Age Groups of the 2013 ODP Tournament in its entirety. Region I will not have the turf facilities to accommodate these age groups for Saturday and Sunday. This information can be found on the Region I website.

AB Sports Zone is currently working with each hotel to ensure that all U13 and U14 parents/guardians will receive a 100% refund for their hotel reservations for this weekend as the tournemant for these age groups has been canceled. AB Sports Zone will contact each reservation holder individually via e-mail beginning next week to confirm.

2000 Boys 2013 Region I Tournament Teams

Congratulations to the players that were selected. To the players that were not selected, please know that you are still a part of the Maryland State ODP and that you should continue to attend training sessions to prepare for the Region I ID Camp in July. More information concerning the ID Camp will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.

For the players that were selected, payment in the amount of $100.00 must be received in the MSYSA state office by Friday, May 10, 2013 to secure your place. A payment form must accompany each payment.

The 2013 Region I Tournament is being held in Mercer County, NJ on the weekend of June 7-9, 2013. The specific game schedule for the 2000 Boys will be posted here as soon as it becomes available. Parents/guardians are responsible for securing lodging and transportation to and from this event for themselves and their player(s). Hotel accommodations are being managed by AB Sports Zone.

To book a hotel room please click the following Hotel Reservation Link, click the button labeled “Reserve” beside the correct hotel for your player. The 2000 Boys will be staying in the following hotels:

The 2013 Region I Tournament is being held in Mercer County, New Jersey on the weekend of June 7-9, 2013. This tournament is by invitation only as the team roster is limited to 18 players (including goal keepers). Maryland will send three teams (for a total of 54 players) from the 2000 boys training pool. The coaching staff has been asked to make their final selections after training on Monday, May 6, 2013. The team selections will be posted on this website by Wednesday, May 8, 2013.

Parents/guardians of selected players are responsible for securing lodging and transportation to and from this event for themselves and their player(s). Hotel booking information will be posted on this website as soon as it becomes available. Hotel rooms will be blocked by team (e.g. the 1998 boys will have their rooms together in a single hotel) and parents/guardians will be required to secure their room (for themselves and their player(s)) in that hotel room block. This will ensure that the team is together and is located in a general vicinity to make potential team meetings more feasible for the coaching staff and to allow the players to interact with their teammates. The parents/guardians will be responsible for transporting their player(s) to and from games, for feeding their player(s) and for watching their player(s).

(UPDATED 4-9-13) Due to the limited availability of hotel rooms this year only one room per selected player will be blocked.

All field players are to wear their red jersey, red shorts and red socks on Monday, March 4, 2013 and their white jersey, black shorts and black socks on Monday, March 11, 2013. Players should continue to alternate for the remainder of the training sessions. Goal keepers should wear their GK jersey and should follow this schedule for their shorts and socks.

Maryland is fortunate to have the opportunity to send three teams from the 2000 Boys ODP training pool to the VA Friendlies this season. This allows for all of the players selected to the Maryland State ODP team to attend and provides an opportunity for increased playing time. The Maryland State training pool has been divided into three teams of equal number and are labeled as RED Team, White Team, and Yellow Team.
