ODP Tryout Preparation
Cold weather clothing

Because Maryland ODP tryouts are held in December and cold weather is expected, all players (and parents) should dress appropriately.  Also, arrive early enough to check in at the registration table and to warm up properly.

The ODP tryout t-shirt must be visible at all times to ensure proper evaluation by our coaches.  Attempting to wear the tryout shirt over multiple sweatshirts and training tops isn’t always the most "comfortable" idea.  We want all players to be focused on the ball, their teammates and their opponents, not on how uncomfortable they feel while playing.  Please read the recommendations below to ensure you are properly prepared, comfortable and safe for ODP tryouts.

NOTE:  Please do not wear clothing or carry bags that display club or ODP logos to Maryland ODP tryouts.
While on the field, players should wear:
  • 2-3 layers of lightweight clothing on their upper body
  • Shorts (once player is appropriately warmed up)
  • Gloves (optional)
  • Hat (optional)
  • Warm up pants (optional)
While resting, players should wear:
  • Heavy Sweatshirt
  • Warm-up Jacket
  • Warm-up Pant
  • Hat
  • Gloves
Please make sure to bring:
  • Inflated Soccer Ball
  • Shin Guards
  • Extra Soccer Shoes
  • Extra Socks
  • Water
