Maryland State Youth Soccer Association along with US Youth Soccer is proud to announce that the National Youth License will be offered in August of 2014 at the Soccer Association of Columbia in Ellicott City, Maryland.
The six-day course is geared towards coaches who work mainly with the U-6 through U-12 age groups, as well as, for club Directors of Coaching, club Directors of Recreational Programs, Academy Coaches, Club Administrators and Board Members, and potential National Youth Modules Course Instructors. This course is often regarded as the most beneficial and important of the national-level courses!
The National Youth Course is ideal for decision makers at clubs as it provides valuable information for designing age appropriate programming for players. The course draws from a wealth of experts in the fields of sport, child psychology and physical education. The instruction of the course is age-specific. Each day of the course is devoted to the physical, psychological and social characteristics displayed by children of specific ages, i.e. U-6, U-8, U-10 and U-12. This six-day course combines theoretical (classroom) and practical (field) information and concludes with written, oral and practical examinations. Both age appropriate players and candidates will participate in the practical portion of the course.
Time Commitment: Candidates will be required to attend the course in its entirety. Each day will start at 8:30AM and finish at 6:00PM, except the first day (August 8th), which will start at 5:30PM and end at 9:00PM. (Generally, Sundays end at 4:00pm)
Course Eligibility: Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess the USSF “D” License or a waiver from the MSYSA Technical Director (email@example.com).
Cost: A deposit of $150 should accompany the application. Tuition is $590 per MSYSA candidate member if paid in full by June 15, 2014 or $625 per MSYSA non-member candidate if paid in full by June 15, 2014. Tuition is $650 after June 15, 2014. Tuition must be paid in full by July 1, 2014. Cancellation of registration will require a fee of $100.00. This course is non-residential which means that meals, transportation to site and overnight accommodations are not included. This is a state hosted course. MSYSA will coordinate all aspects of this course including applications, payments, administration and inquiries. Applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis and space is limited.

Registration is limited to the first 36 coaches and will close when the course is full or on July 1, 2014, whichever comes first. Applicants failing to submit final payment by the deadline of July 1, 2014 will have their registration cancelled and deposit forfeited. Information on travel, check-in procedures, suggested equipment, course schedule, etc., will be sent to fully paid candidates approximately 3 weeks prior to the course.
