Re-testing for the "D"
Testing to upgrade from a State "D" to a National "D"
Retesting: Candidate’s, who have earned a State D license and are looking to upgrade to a National D may do so by enrolling in and completing Part B of the new D course. Part B of the D course is an 18 hour weekend consisting of both classroom and field testing.  Candidates are responsible for the Deliberate Coaching part of the course as listed below before attending the course.

Deliberate Coaching: Re-testing candidates are assigned five training sessions from the pool of twelve topics. The five predetermined training sessions are listed below and are assigned based on the candidate’s last name. A standard template should be used when writing out the session.  Click here for the template.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to work with a team and a mentor on the five training sessions before attending Part B of the course.  The five session lesson plans are to be turned into the instructor on the first day of the weekend.

 

Performance Review This is the testing assessment for the weekend. The testing topics will be assigned to the candidates at the end of the first day of the Part B weekend. Field-testing topics will come from the list below:

Possible outcomes for re-testing:

  • Based on the candidate’s assessment the candidate can earn a “National Pass” and are eligible to enroll in a national coaching school C course in 12 months.  


  • Based on the candidate’s assessment the candidate’s license level can remain a “State Pass”.

 

Age requirements: Candidate must be at least 18 years of age. 

Registration Fee: The registration fee for re-testing in Part B is $100 and $125 for non-MSYSA members.

Attendance: Attendance and participation is mandatory for all sessions.

 

What to bring: Applicants should bring a size 5 soccer ball, water, training suit, sweat suit, or any form of action clothing, gym shoes, soccer cleats, and writing materials. Candidates are expected to participate in each session. There will be a one hour lunch break for coaches. Coaches may either bring their own lunch or go to lunch off site.   

Before you move to the registration page for a Part B of the "D" course, please make sure you have access to a credit card in order to complete the registration process.

 

Courses are posted when clubs elect to host a course. 
 
 
Refund policy for MSYSA educational courses.

-There are no refunds once the course roster is set for the course.

-Refund request prior to two weeks before the course will be granted only if a qualified replacement can be found for the course.

 
Re-testing does not automatically qualify the candidate for a National D License.
