2014 Maryland State ODP Tryout Schedules are POSTED!
All tryout dates and locations are subject to change without prior notice

Boy’s and Girl’s tryout schedules are posted on the left sidebar.  All tryout dates, times and locations are subject to change without prior notice.  All changes will be posted on the appropriate schedule.

The Maryland State ODP uses the calendar year for team formation.  Players will tryout in their birth year group.  Playing on a club team that has mixed birth years has no impact on the ODP process.

Age groups for the 2014 Maryland State ODP season are as follows:

2002/2003 (U12)

2001 (U13)

2000 (U14)

1999 (U15)

1998 (U16)

1997 (U17)

Important ODP Tryout Information
2014 season

Maryland State ODP tryouts (U13-U17) are scheduled for December 1-12, 2013. Tryout schedules are posted on the left sidebar.

Maryland State ODP teams are formed using BIRTHYEAR. Tryouts will be held December 1-12, 2013 for the following age groups: 1997 (U17), 1998 (U16), 1999 (U15), 2000 (U14), 2001 (U13).

Players born in 2002 and 2003 (U12) will tryout October 26-27, 2013 at the Garrison Forest School.

U13-U17 Players must attend at least one tryout session to be eligible for placement on a Maryland state ODP team roster. U15-U17 Players may attend more than one tryout (for their age group and gender) if they choose.

Additionally, all 2000 (U14) and 2001 (U13) players must select and attend two (2) (and only two) of the avaiable tryout blocks.

Tryout blocks for the 2000 (U14) and 2001 (U13) age groups can be viewed by clicking here

If a player is unable to attend any of the posted tryout sessions (available on the left sidebar) they must register for tryouts and then notify the state office in writing (programs@msysa.org) to receive a callback tryout in March/April, 2014.

ODP Tryout Preparation
Cold weather clothing

Because Maryland ODP tryouts are held in December and cold weather is expected, all players (and parents) should dress appropriately.  Also, arrive early enough to check in at the registration table and to warm up properly.

The ODP tryout t-shirt must be visible at all times to ensure proper evaluation by our coaches.  Attempting to wear the tryout shirt over multiple sweatshirts and training tops isn’t always the most "comfortable" idea.  We want all players to be focused on the ball, their teammates and their opponents, not on how uncomfortable they feel while playing.  Please read the recommendations below to ensure you are properly prepared, comfortable and safe for ODP tryouts.
